Livability

Build a connected community where every person can

thrive in dignity.

  • Have and maintain a Neighborhood Market that provides neighbors withaccess to affordable and healthy foods

  • Open one or more Third Spaces where neighbors can interact with others andbuild community. Some potential spaces: Coffee Shop, Wifi Cafe, Recording Studio, Business Incubator

​

  • Provide a mix of quality housing options that meets the needs of allneighbors–affordable, work-force, rentals, mixed use, and rehab of current homes

​

  • See an overall increase in economic development that supports and invests in local entrepreneurs/founders, activates blighted commercial structures, and creates jobs for neighbors

​

  • Create a safe and walkable neighborhood. A comprehensive approach that includes urban trails, clean alleys, sidewalk repair, beautification, and trash pick up

Youth & Lifelong Learning

Provide access to a rich array of lifelong learning

opportunities for all ages.

  • Ensure that every youth that needs or desires a mentor is matched to one

  • Extend the “Promise” to ever y kid in the neighborhood with a focus on school​partnership and integra tion

​

  • Classes in the neighborhood for the overall well-being of neighbors, designed by neighbors

​

  • Become a neighborhood that includes all generational voices, focusing on a first step of starting both a Youth and Elder council for interested neighbors

​

  • Opportunities and options for physical activities, including team sports, forboth youth and adults

Neighboring & Community

Build a connected community where every person can

  • Open a Community or Rec Center that is a hub of activity and connections for neighbors, servicing all the unique desires and needs of the neighborhood

  • Put on events in the neighborhoodthat help connect neighbors to one another and is a source of fun, relaxation, laughter, and peace

​

  • Meet and engage our neighbors in creative ways, identify and welcome new neighbors, so we can build genuine relationships in the neighborhood

​

  • Collect and share neighbors’ stories and produce more effective communication overall

​

  • As a collective community, take care of neighbors’ basic needs: food,clothing, shelter, relationships, etc. Utilize Neighbors HelpingNeighbors platform
